Gagosian is a contemporary art gallery. Since 2007 GTF has designed catalogues to accompany the gallery’s ambitious exhibition programme in New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Rome, Athens and Hong Kong.
As well as providing an accurate record of the exhibition, painstakingly researched archival material, commissioned texts by leading experts and contributions from artists provide an extended insight into the art. At the onset of a project, listening carefully to the artist and the gallery’s intentions for a show is critical to realising the potential of each publication. There is no fixed format, and every aspect of each catalogue responds to the artwork that it supports.
Precise control of image reproduction and manufacturing specifications are vital. Working in partnership with a dedicated team of photographers, colour separators and printers, the fast-paced production process is continually being refined.
