Kvadrat Kabarett is an animated film created to promote a collection of new fabrics designed by Doshi Levien. The new designs take on personalities: the woollen upholstery textile ‘Jaali’ assumes an opaque, tailored form that contrasts with ‘Maya’, a sensual, free-flowing and transparent curtain fabric.
Inspired by the Kabarett clubs of the early twentieth century, in which artists congregated to push the boundaries of creative expression, the animation brings Doshi Levien’s textiles to life and provides an architectural setting in which to express their individual attributes.
Kvadrat Kabarett is a companion to The Wool Parade, released in 2013.
