An interpretive graphics scheme for the Manchester City Gallery’s permanent display of applied and fine art objects. The labelling system used a bespoke aluminium extrusion to support and fix text at a variety of viewing angles and heights. For each label, the extrusion was cut to length according to the volume of text required.
The MAG initials, integral to the extrusion, made reference to the maker’s mark that was often cast into Victorian structural engineering.
