This catalogue surveys Lowman’s Maps – a series of paintings produced by cutting fragments of studio drop-cloth into the shape of individual American states, which, when sewn together and stretched over canvas supports form the general outline of the continental United States.

The catalogue design is notable for a single decision: to die-cut all the paintings along their coastal edges. The removed paper offers a glimpse of the consecutive pages, a consequence that compels the reader to keep turning the leaves.
